Two men charged after stop on M6 uncovers £130,000 of cannabis

Two men have been charged and remanded by detectives in Westmorland and Furness’s Community and Serious Organised Crime (CSOC) team with drug supply offences following a vehicle stop. Officers from the Cumbria’s Roads Policing Unit (RPU) stopped a vehicle on 19 January travelling on the M6 due to the manner of driving. The vehicle was searched and officers located 13kg of Cannabis with a potential street value of £130,000. Abdul Ahmed, aged 45, of Radlett Walk, Manchester and Abdul Nurdin, aged 49 of  Tyldesley Street, Manchester, were both charged with possession with intent to supply Class B drugs. Both were remanded into custody and appeared before Barrow Magistrates Court this morning (21 Jan). The seizure forms part of forms part of Operation Alliance - Cumbria Constabulary’s ongoing response to protect the county against serious and organised crime.
